National Apprentice Week

Posted on 15th March 2017

Last week it was National Apprentice Week. Apprenticeships are funded by the government and allow individuals to gain experience and qualifications through on the job training.

This allows individuals to learn whilst they earn, and get a qualification at the end of it. Over the last few years’ apprenticeships have become very popular, success rates have risen and more young adults are looking into apprenticeships to start their career effectively.

Active Superstars are proud to take on apprentices both in sports coaching and in administration.

The Benefits of Employing an Apprentice

Cost Effective

Apprenticeships are part funded by the government meaning that they are very cost effective. As wages for apprentices start at £3.40 per hour, it is beneficial to schools as there is a lower financial risk in taking on a new employee. Apprentices also help to increase staff retention, as 87% of graduating apprentices are still working within their same business.

Asset to the Business

Apprentices are a valuable asset to a school/business as they bring fresh ideas and diversity. They can help motivate the rest of the workforce, as statistics show that over 70% of organisations believe that apprentices make the workforce more productive.

Benefits of Becoming an Apprentice

Qualifications and Experience

Apprentices can gain qualifications to widen their knowledge, whilst gaining experience to help aid their future and start a career.

Apprentices can gain varied learning as it will not just consist of studying but also putting knowledge into practise, and will help them to gain new skills. Apprentices will also get support from their managers and colleagues.

Support in Schools

Active Superstars employ apprentice sports coaches. This can benefit your school as they can help with Classroom and PE support, and also play activities. This means that they can plan sessions, create games and engage children in sports. Our apprentices can work towards becoming a teaching assistant, meaning they can work alongside teachers to help improve children’s knowledge and attitudes towards learning.

Active Superstars offer many apprenticeships and pride ourselves in training individuals to become the best that they can be. If you want to get your children involved within our sporting opportunities, call Active Superstars today on 0121 222 5464 or email
